Demographics ~ characteristics used to describe some aspect of a population and that can be measured for that population, such as growth rate, age structure, birth rate, and gross reproduction rate.

- How many people can our planet take care of?
- 10 billion people is the uppermost population limit where food is concerned. Because it's extremely unlikely that everyone will agree to stop eating meat, Wilson thinks the maximum carrying capacity of the Earth based on food resources will most likely fall short of 10 billion.
- Has the human race reached the carrying capacity?
- Sometime over the next millennium -- a relatively short time when you consider the age of the Earth -- the human population's carrying capacity will be realized. Assuming space as the limiting factor, and a population growth rate of 1% (It's currently 1.14%), the population density of Earth will equal one human being per square meter of land in a little over 1,000 years. That's quite a packed Earth.
- What is the human race's carrying capacity?
- About 10 billion people
- What is happening to all of the "other animals" as our population is increasing rapidly?
- Many animals are being killed by other animals or by humans
- How much will milk, food, and meat costs 7 years from now? Will I even find an affordable home? Will there be enough oil on our planet for everybody?
- Food will be more expensive 7 years from now than it is today. You will probably not be able to find affordable housing.
- Why should you be concerned about this? Think about your future!
- You should be concerned for maybe not so much yourself as for your children and your children's children. The world is reaching it's carrying capacity rapidly and food, oil, animals and resources will be very sparse and expensive.
- Think about all the trash, holiday traffic, pollution in the air, and the long lines at Magic Mountain, Disneyland and other resorts.
- The world's pollution levels have increased, natural resources have decreased, food prices continue to increase and the world's carrying capacity is reaching its limits . As I think about the world and all the pollution it is already saturated with, it can not be long before the increased traffic, overcrowded noisy tourist attractions, scarce natural resources and the cost of living on earth will further damage our habitant. I am beginning to understand the world will not be the same in just a few short years. We all need to start taking the earth's carrying capacity more importantly and be more proactive about taking care of not only ourselves but the earth also. If we continue to soil our nest here on Earth, we all will be looking at a very disastrous future.
